Hitler: The Rise of Evil [mini series]

This movie chronicles Hitler's life from his childhood to his rise to power in Germany. Although I'm not sure about the historical facts, this movie is a must see. Robert Carlyle [I also liked him in Trainspotting] who plays Hitler has given the performance of his lifetime, he has literally transformed into a monster to play Hitler. We will be mesmerized by his powerful speeches just like the Germans did.
The movie starts with a Quote by Edmund Burke -
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
I always did and will believe in the above statement, there's no superior being or creator / devil who brings goodness / life / happiness or evil / death / destruction to this world but us HUMANS. If we can create evil then we certainly can destroy it.

Some of My Favorite Characters in Cinema

Micheal Corleone [from the Godfather]
Quotes:
Only don't tell me that you're innocent. Because it insults my intelligence and it makes me very angry.
Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.
Never let anyone know what you are thinking.
When they come... they come at what you love.
I don't feel I have to wipe everybody out, Tom. Just my enemies.
There are many things my father taught me here in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
I'll change; I'll change. I've learned that I have the strength to change.
We're both part of the same hypocrisy, senator, but never think it applies to my family.
Friends and money - oil and water.
Your enemies always get strong on what you leave behind.
: No! Never hate your enemies. It affects your judgment.
: He should be careful. It's dangerous to be an honest man.

THE JOKER [from the dark knight]
my fav quotes
: If you're good at something never do it for free.
: Do you want to know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all the.. little emotions. In.. you see, in their last moments, people show you who they really are. So in a way, I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which of them were cowards?
: Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair!

KEYSER SOZE [the usual suspects]

He lets the last Hungarian go. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and then he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they live in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. Nobody has ever seen him since. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. "Rat on your pop, and Keyser Soze will get you." And no-one ever really believes.

JIGSAW [SAW series]

quotes:
"Live or die. Make your choice."
"Game over."
"You think it is over, but the games have just begun."

Dr. Hannibal Lecter

quotes:

[on telephone] "I do wish we could chat longer, but... I'm having an old friend for dinner. Bye."
"On a similar note I must confess to you, I'm giving very serious thought... to eating your wife."
"People don't always say what they're thinking... they just see to it that you don't advance in life."
"And be grateful. Our scars have the power to remind us that the past was real. "
"Tell me, Will. Did you enjoy it? Your first murder? Of course you did. And why shouldn't it feel good? It does to God. Why only last week in Texas, he dropped a church roof on the heads of 34 of his worshippers, just as they were groveling for him. He wouldn't begrudge you for one Journalist. "

HIGH FIDELITY

A really funny movie. A guy talks about his top 5 break ups. Jack Black is amazing as usual. The movie shows the fallacy, irony, anger, doubts involved with relationships. At times the lead character does appear as a total looser. It is kind of a dark comedy, definitely worth having a copy.

2 LIVES - PHYSICAL AND ONLINE

The most interesting thing about life in this age is all of us are leading 2 lives.
One is our daily physical life and the other, digital or online life.

I think most of the people are truer and real online. All face book, blogs and other online info are more accurate and truthful than our physical lives. I read recently this was proven by a research.
I try maximum to be truthful in both my lives. This has both positives and negatives. It's a very positive thing that people are not scared to share their views online. If only this transpires to our physical life. I recently was going through a lot of old emails and logs.... its interesting to go through ones own history, we all leave our digital imprints - FOR LIFE.

MAKING FUN OF OTHERS

I read this somewhere. As a person who is extremely sarcastic at times, I fully endorse this: If some one makes fun of you, here's what one can do.
1. Try to top it, with a brilliant come back.
2. If you can't come up with something, try to laugh it off with the others.
3. If you can't do this also, try and ignore it.
now ....if are unable to do any of the above, the truth is you probably deserve to be humiliated :-)

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

How often have we heard these lines - forget the past and live happily in the present. Don't worry too much about the future.

I honestly don't agree to this, of course we should live in the present to lead a good, normal, happy life. But forgetting the past or not worrying about the future plainly means that we don’t care much about anything. I've seen people only care about present; go crazy about what’s happening now. So paranoid that whatever they do, it ends up in a mess. I wonder what drives someone to keep repeating the same mistakes or should I say choices. One's character is defined by their actions; no matter how much we put on a show one’s true colors are bound to come through. If we keep repeating the same mistakes then there's something critically wrong with us, is it plain stupidity or selfishness. A bit of both I guess. There's no other logical explanation. Of course not many would use the grey matter in their head to think about LOGIC, would they???? :-)

So history is equally important, to study and to remember the good and bad things, to be accountable for our deeds. This awareness can only lead to a better present and future.

Learning from the past is the biggest lesson one can learn in life, this can lead to a careful present, which might result in a good future.
